Why? Why are liberals, snowflakes and social justice warriors trying to take everything fun and turn it into something convoluted and essentially stupid? Why can’t we enjoy the simple things in life without assigning hidden meanings and agendas to every single one of them? I mean seriously, I am starting to get fed up with all this incessant whining that goes on every single day. And the problem is not that they whine, is that because of their whining we end up without things that we enjoy and we like. And that has to stop, it has to stop now for fucks sake!
Everything today is portrayed as a tragedy, and it is shocking for me to see this coming from advanced societies that have no fucking clue as to what true tragedies are. No you morons, a T-shirt with “Cutest monkey in the jungle” written on it is not a tragedy, a bomb that falls on your house killing your family is a tragedy. People whine and bicker and rip their hair out over simply ridiculous things that should not even be up for debate. I mean seriously, maybe it’s time we take a good long look at ourselves and understand that the world doesn’t evolve around our insecurities and fears and that not everything exists in order to trigger us in one way or another… Maybe it is time we learn to face and accept reality.
The #meetoo movement has been in the spotlight for the last year. People all around the world have gone on witch-hunts, some justified, some not. The idea is that a lot of famous people have been accused of different things and almost all have suffered greatly when it comes to their public lives. We have had films remade to exclude certain people, series canceled or changed, singers dropped, producers renegaded and many more. This craziness has affected a lot of people directly and many more indirectly.
And I’m pissed! I’m pissed because I want to be able to enjoy my favorite entertainment without a chorus of triggered voices in the background. I am pissed because I can’t wait for the new Fantastic Beasts movie and I don’t need snowflake after snowflake shouting at me that oh my God, Johnny Depp abused his ex-wife. I am pissed because I loved House of Cards and now I will not get to see it end properly just because Kevin Spacey bla bla or bla bla… I am pissed because this crusade started for the correct reasons and ended up transforming into something ugly and absurd that is affecting even those of us that have nothing to do with it.
STOP destroying people’s lives without actually knowing what happened! Wait for a judge’s or a jury’s decision before casting blame, and in the meantime, while we wait, let those people do their jobs for fucks sake. I don’t care if Kevin Spacey or Harvey Weinstein will go to jail at some point if and when the accusations against them hold up in court, I just want them to do what they do in the meantime and offer me good movies. Then, if they do go to jail, fine by me, but don’t destroy them in the media and have it that the only real consequences is that I don’t get to see nice movies or series anymore.
I want to live in a society where innocent until proven guilty really applies and where peoples careers are only destroyed when it is proven beyond a shadow of doubt that they did something wrong? Is that too much to ask? I guess it is, although I seriously do not understand this need that the media and so many people have to ruin people’s lives based on nothing but pure speculation… It’s sad, and I really hope we stop going down this path very soon… Otherwise, in a few years we will all have fun like robots… and not the fun kind of robots, mind you…
